The Heart Behind It’s You and I

  • I am a passionate advocate for intentional living, thriving partnerships, and authentic self-discovery. With over 15 years of global experience and a deep commitment to personal growth, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals and couples transform their relationships and lives.

  • My career journey has been rich and varied, shaped by my unique perspective on relationships and connection. Before establishing myself as a coach and therapist, I traveled extensively, working in 20 countries, from the bustling streets of Dubai to the serene landscapes of South Africa. This global exposure has given me a profound appreciation for cultural diversity and the nuances that influence how we connect and communicate.

  • As a BACP-registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor trained in Person-Centred Therapy and Transpersonal Couples Therapy, I am dedicated to helping my clients uncover their true selves. My therapeutic journey began in 2017, working in schools and later within the NHS, where I gained invaluable insights into the challenges people face at all stages of life. In 2022, I launched my private practice, combining psychological expertise with practical coaching strategies to make a meaningful impact.

My approach blends evidence-based therapeutic methods with coaching techniques designed to empower and inspire growth. As a proud member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), I’m committed to ethical and impactful practice in everything I do.

  • Alongside my therapeutic career, I’ve spent over 15 years in Event Management and Operations, culminating in my role as Director of Events and Experiences for a prominent global wedding conference company. In this position, I curated exceptional experiences for industry leaders, royalty, and MPs, building meaningful collaborations and a network of world-renowned experts.

My work in the Wedding and Events industry not only honed my organisational and leadership skills but also deepened my understanding of human relationships, commitment, and celebration. It gave me a unique and profound insight into the dynamics of commitment and intentional relationships, as well as a global perspective on cultural nuances and the complexities of love. By bridging the joy of celebration with the depth of personal growth, I bring a rare, holistic approach to helping others build thriving, intentional partnerships.

  • As a host, moderator, and conference curator, I bring a unique combination of event management and therapeutic expertise to create conferences that are both insightful and transformative. I curate every aspect of the content, from selecting speakers to guiding them on the topics they will present, ensuring that each conference I oversee delivers high-value, engaging, and impactful content.

I work closely with speakers to ensure their topics align with the broader theme of the event and meet the needs of the audience. My approach blends professional development with personal growth, and I focus on creating conferences that encourage self-awareness, connection, and actionable takeaways.

In addition to curating and moderating, I am a speaker myself, delivering content on a variety of topics such as intentional relationships, personal growth, and leadership. I also lead workshops aimed at enhancing communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building, offering participants practical tools to enhance both their personal and professional lives.

  • Outside of my professional life, I am a vibrant and multifaceted individual. Fluent in French and an avid salsa dancer, I bring energy, warmth, and creativity to every interaction.

  • Hi! I’m Mahayla, a Person-Centred Psychotherapeutic Counsellor committed to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s most challenging moments.

With over 10 years of knowledge and experience, I specialise in supporting clients through relationships, grief, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and suicidal thoughts. My work is rooted in creating meaningful connections and fostering a safe space for personal growth, self-discovery, and healing.

  • My journey as a counsellor has been informed by a diverse and enriching career path.

Prior to counselling, I spent two years living in Japan, where I taught English and immersed myself in a completely different culture. This experience not only broadened my perspective but also inspired a deep appreciation for cultural nuances and the complexities of human connection. Along the way, I discovered my love for playing the Japanese Koto, an interest I still pursue as a hobby.

In my professional life, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of environments—providing counselling, supervision and training in private practice, as well as within charities and educational institutions. I’ve worked with young people, adults, couples and fellow counsellors, with particular interest in supporting those who are facing life’s toughest transitions.

Whether I’m helping individuals manage mental health challenges or guiding the development of new therapists, I’m passionate about creating a space where people feel truly heard and supported

  • As a registered member of the BACP, I bring a compassionate, client-focused approach to my work. I believe that healing doesn’t just come from addressing symptoms—it’s about building a deeper relationship with oneself and empowering clients to make decisions that align with their true values. Through Person-Centred Therapy, I offer a supportive environment where clients can safely explore their thoughts and emotions, discovering new ways of coping with life’s difficulties.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I have a strong interest in supervising counselling groups, where I guide the next generation of therapists in developing their skills. I also teach counselling skills, empowering others to use their emotional intelligence and ability to extend Person-Centred conditions to make a real impact in the lives of those they support.

  • I’m a creative individual with a passion for art, gaming and music. I enjoy painting, playing the Koto, and organising board game parties with friends, all of which allow me to express my social quirks, innovation and ambition whilst staying grounded.

I also find joy in connecting with others, always trying to find the right opportunity to make someone smile, whilst being intentional about balancing my work with personal fulfilment and growth.

With a warm, empathetic nature, I’m dedicated to creating a space where you feel relaxed, seen, and valued. I believe in the transformative power of therapy to guide individuals towards their authentic selves, and I’m honoured to be a part of that journey with each of my clients.
